New year, new you? Not us - we've been doing the same thing we have for the past 10 years - polishing our software, so we all build admin panels faster and better. Crazy to think it's been almost 10 years - I have to admit. I'm curious - how long have you been using Backpack? Let us know in the comments below.
It's been a good month in terms of maintenance. Here's a summary of the changes in our packages:
Big thanks to @TanNhatCMS this month, for helping us with the Vietnamese translations 🙏🏻
Some of the updates above include minor features - for example we've added Anchor and Copy functionality to LogManager. See their releases for more info.
Starting PRO v3.0.5 you can use a new field type - code_mirror. It allows your admin to edit small bits of code - super useful if you want to give marketer control to add scripts / css, stuff like that. Of course, you should be extra-careful who you give this superpower too. Remember what Uncle Ben taught us: "with great power comes great responsibility"!

We're currently working on something we've wanted for a long long time - test generators. Turns out thanks to AI, these days it's easier than ever to have a decent suite of tests. And testing your admin panel might be a great idea if it's easy to do - because you can easily make changes in your data structure... but forget to do it in your admin panel too. There's really no reason not to test your admin panel, if it's dead-simple. No reason other than... you haven't started yet. That's exactly why we're working on a the generators - they will help you get started. We've discovered the AI does a much better job, if it has some examples. Coming soon, to an admin panel near you!
That’s it for January. Thanks again for using Backpack, supporting the project, and helping us make it better every month. And perhaps answer my question - how long have you been using Backpack?
Cheers!
