I'm eager to announce that we've finished most breaking changes that are coming in Backpack v7... which means we will finally be able to give you access to it, too! We're working day and night to finish all breaking changes (and some major features) by the end of the month... then we're off to working on our docs, to make it all clear to you. Which means... you'll probably be able to play around with Backpack v7 in a few weeks 😱

To get you as excited as we are, we've put together a quick landing page for Backpack v7 Public Beta. Take a look there for a video of some major new features in Backpack v7 and a quick explanation why. As well as screenshots and descriptions of the new features.

But in short, here's are my favorite features that are coming in Backpack v7:

• components, that you can use anywhere: datatable, datagrid, datalist, chips
• AI coding tooling: an AI toolkit, to easily vibe-code admin panels;
• AI addons, for your admins to use LLMs for creating/updating content (coming in v7.x);
• test framework & test generators: as we all move faster thanks to AI, it's more important than ever to make sure new commits don't break old features; testing your admin panel shouldn't be an afterthought - we'll make it easy;
• more features, that we'll let you discover in a few weeks;

We expect to stay in beta for a month or less - we've already heavily tested everything, so we're mostly looking for feedback rather than bug reports.
