If your admins have been looking for a quick way to edit JSONs in their admin panel, we have excellent news. Regular contributor Ziming has published a package that allows you to use this new JSON field type in your Backpack for Laravel admin panels.

First of all, it looks beautiful:

But also - it's dead-simple to use, and has a lot of smart features out-of-the-box, including:

• multiple modes of viewing the JSON (code, tree, form)
• syntax highlighting
• indented code
• color picker
• searching
• undo & redo

Keep in mind: not all admin panels will need this field. In fact, it is recommended that you do NOT use this field if the admin is non-technical - it'd be difficult for them to understand they need to abide by the JSON format. But, if the admin is technical and can be trusted to edit JSONs, this add-on is a plug-and-play solution that will cover A LOT of use cases. It could save you from creating some custom fields which means it could save you quite a few hours of work.
